  • Anastasios Kotsiopoulos

    Anastasios M. Kotsiopoulos is Professor Emeritus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and, since 2008, a corresponding member of the Academy of Athens. He was born in Thessaloniki in 1946. He studied at A.U.Th. (diploma of architecture, doctorate in engineering, reader in architecture) and at the University of Edinburgh (Ph.D.). He taught architectural design and theory of architecture at A.U.Th. since 1971, initially as a lecturer, since 1989 as a full professor and, since 2013, as an emeritus professor. He is a member of the Technical Council of the Academy of Athens and the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute of Architecture. He has about 300 publications of theory and architectural works, among them the books Issues of Architectural Theory (1982 Synchrona Themata), Critique of Architectural Theory (1985 University Studio Press), Architecture in a Period of Crisis (2010 Nefeli), On the Postmodern in Architecture, with Stelios Giamarelos (2018 Nefeli).

    From 1984 until 1995, partners of his practice have been the architects D. Nikolaou, C. Pantazidis, D. Daki, E. Spartsi, N. Arvanitopoulou, G. Horozoglou and V. Karalazos, while in some projects there was collaboration with M. Papanikolaou, I. Sakellaridou and other architects. In 1997 he created the architectural practice A.M. Kotsiopoulos and Partners Architects, now named K-Architects, along with the architects Alina Panou and Emilia Zoumboulidou, with architectural work and distinctions inside and outside Greece. The architectural work of the office and his paintings were presented in a monographic exhibition (Benaki Museum 2011, and Telloglio Foundation of Arts 2012, editor: A. Skiada) at the same time as the publication of the monograph "A.M. Kotsiopoulos and Partners Architects: a Journey to the Limits of Modernism" (2011, editor: A. Giakoumakatos, Ktirio Publications). He was the honored person at the Citylab 2019 Conference, in September 2019 at the School of Fine Arts, for his entire work.

  • Alina Panou

    Alina studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1989-1995), attended, as an Erasmus student, a semester in the R.W.T.H. Polytechnic in Aachen, Germany and continued her studies at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College of London graduating in 1996 with the degree of Master of Science in Architecture. She collaborated with “Kasparian & Seraidari Architects” for one year and joined A.M. Kotsiopoulos and Partners Architects in 1997, participating as a project architect in a wide range of projects. She is a senior partner of K-Architects since 2008, managing the team, always engaged in providing high quality designing services.

  • Emilia Zoumboulidou

    Senior Partner

    Emilia studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1989-1995), attended, as an Erasmus student, a semester in La Villette, University of Paris, France and continued her studies at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, U.K., where she obtained the degree of Master of Arts in 1996. She collaborated with “ANCA – Techniki Kataskeuastiki” for one year and joined A.M. Kotsiopoulos and Partners Architects in 1997, participating as a project architect in a variety of projects. She is a senior partner of K-Architects since 2008, leading the team in providing advanced architectural solutions.

  • Elissavet Chalkiopoulou

    Partner

    Elissavet studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1981-1987). For seven years she worked in several technical offices in Athens and Thessaloniki managing implementation studies in large scale projects. She joined A.M. Kotsiopoulos and Partners Architects in 1995, leading as an associate project architect a variety of projects. She is a partner of K-Architects since 2008, overseeing the team on all stages of design from inception to completion.

  • Syrmo Papadaki

    D.U.Th.
    Architect

    Syrmo studied architecture at the Department of Architectural Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace (2013-2020). During her studies she actively participated in various voluntary and cultural groups as well as in a building restoration workshop in collaboration with the Archaeological Department of Rhodes. She started working as a junior architect at the architectural office OCTO LLC, based in Switzerland, mainly involved in the field of private residences and hotels. She also participated in architectural competitions. Syrmo joined K-Architects in November 2022.

  • Chrisa Karanikola

    A.U.Th.
    Junior Architect

    Chrisa studied architecture at the School of Architecture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2017-2023). During her studies, she participated at the Biennale Architettura 2021 in Venice, Greek Pavillion: “Boulevard de la Société des Nations”. She is Group Coordinator at Open House Thessaloniki since 2020. She has also participated in several student architecture workshops and competitions. She came to K-Architects as an intern in August 2021 and joined the team full time immediately after her graduation.
